standoffs 2

"The existence of plans on paper is an indicator of cultural weakening."
HOW BUILDINGS LEARN p.132, (1994) Stewart Brandt

Villains : two gnatlike chars (architect/ client) on wkly inspectn, and "C’d I have a wrd w you?" Geoff, latterly called ’Woodsy’ - - Genl Contractor.
...after watching 18apr11 Monday’s show re sprinkler pipe, wd qualify plans on paper by excludng those simply/ accurately showing ’clearances’, etc.

...25apr11 Mon. will be Junk Raiders2 finale of (adult) Clubhouse Project. ...previously, crew plus G.C. spent nrly all of a $5,000 budget then made back money by :
A. dunning crew membrs $20 each (structural steel)
B. no doubt. reimbursed out of two resales, five wks of junk hauls not used.
...now approved ! ! ! (lightr wgt structural steel) crib window to be filld w crushed glass now christened ’Can Wall’ (tho’ plain/ silvrd cans).
...must be done rathr late-sched light-winking ’Firefly’ frame to be coverd w flashy junk. Intense segment included offside comment (crew membr) ’pompous structure, that’...
...and then there are the 70 sinks...

standoffs 1

...this blogger takes a lifetime’ of experience to the viewing of Junkyard Raiders2, Channel 42.
...18apr11 : Monday airing - - near end of (adult) clubhouse project, general contractor hvg troubl w two people; architect and client about what to fill large crib window. Architect insists on crushed glass. Crew plus/ ’Woodsy’ G.C. (inadvertently/ advertently) hve splurged their $5,000 budget on (new) structural steel and are out of money, almost done and wd like to fill enclosure panes w corks OR.... The self-accredited ’recycler’-architect won’t let them. Blogger finds neither archit., and to date, client to be clued-in/ elastic/ generous/ creative/ forgiving to say the least; a pox on both.

...given travel budget & and more yrs, I’d make a pilgrimage to this Toronto clubhouse four decades hence just to see how things worked out. Wd go through this Brickworksbackyard, on my knees

Generosa’s Boy 1

SCENARIO
One of them saw it and both travellers hung onto edges of a wide planed, wood bannister to mount stairs towards the bay window sign in an early 20th century house. The younger of the two let his companion define a door knocker and then bang it. They waited. A spectre nudged lace curtains unintentionally shifting the ROOM AND BOARD sign. A scowl got ’defined’ just like the door knocker rapping (space trav difficult but accessible). The curtain closed; a heavyTread and the spectre appeared again laced at a small round window. Conveying whatever a peephole is for.

Remembered best, however, wd be the boarding house ’definition’. Advance paid and first instruction in the Dining Room "No, not there. At the card table" beside and seemingly below the room’s proper focus, a baronial ’thing’/ slab which had no farther reach. Yet it did hold,
supper.

It was sensed - - a remote otherTread response to the hour - - diners besides himself and his new landlady, eight Immortals descending hallway stairs to enter the D.R.. Four of them inched, weaving between a cramp of chairs while to his right four others sat to face backtowall country kin you guessed it across lace tablecloth, plastic- pad protected from enormous tureens which let escape most reassuring smells. Between two Immortals Generosa leaned, plump hand removing lids. ’Boy’ in his card table corner almost reeled through French doors into the dark of Generosa’s (L.R.) Living ’Sitting’ Room.

(VEGGIES WERE PASSED AROUND)
